Azure Local provides a flexible foundation for modern infrastructure, while external storage enables compute and storage resources to scale independently. By extending this disaggregated model with Everpure™ FlashArray™, organizations can support demanding workloads and strengthen their data protection strategy without replacing the platforms and operational investments they already rely on.

Recovery readiness starts with the architecture

To validate the architecture in practice, Everpure evaluated backup and recovery workflows across Commvault, HYCU, Rubrik, and Veeam. Validation used Azure Local in a disaggregated configuration, with Everpure FlashArray providing external block storage through FlashArray-backed Cluster Shared Volumes (CSV).

The result is a validated, repeatable architecture that gives customers more choice in protecting Azure Local workloads backed by Everpure FlashArray and offers solution architects and field teams a practical reference for deployment.

Data protection is most effective when it’s considered as part of the architecture—not as an operational afterthought.

In this validation, Everpure focused on an important practical question: Can customers deploy Azure Local with external FlashArray storage while continuing to use the data protection platforms they already know and trust?

We validated data protection workflows across Commvault,  HYCU, Rubrik, and Veeam, demonstrating the ability to protect and recover Azure Local workloads in the tested configuration.

The result is more than an interoperability check. It demonstrates a repeatable architecture that preserves choice across the data protection ecosystem while providing a consistent external storage foundation for Azure Local.

Architecture and validation scope

The validation focused on data protection and recovery workflows for Azure Local workloads running on Everpure FlashArray external storage.

The validated architecture included:

  • Azure Local: Compute and Hyper-V workload platform
  • Everpure FlashArray: External block storage
  • Fibre Channel: Storage connectivity
  • Cluster Shared Volumes (CSVs): Workload storage presented to Azure Local

The validated data protection solutions included:

  • Commvault
  • HYCU
  • Rubrik
  • Veeam

The validation assessed the tested backup and recovery workflows across these data protection solutions.

Simpler operations, stronger recovery readiness

A strong cyber-resilience posture is not only about whether recovery is possible. It’s also about how confidently and efficiently teams can execute when it matters most.

With Azure Local and Everpure FlashArray, operations teams benefit from an architecture designed to reduce friction. The storage layer brings enterprise data services, strong efficiency, and a cleaner separation of responsibilities across the environment. That allows teams to move faster, reduce operational overhead, and focus less on managing infrastructure complexity and more on maintaining recovery readiness.

This approach is especially important for organizations building modern environments that need to support hybrid operations, regulated or sovereignty-sensitive workloads, and business-critical applications without sacrificing flexibility or control.

One architecture, multiple data protection ecosystems

The validation demonstrates that Azure Local workloads running on Everpure FlashArray external storage can be integrated with multiple enterprise data protection platforms.

Customers gain greater flexibility to align data protection with their existing operational models, investment strategies, and preferred data protection ecosystems—without requiring the underlying Azure Local storage architecture to be redesigned for each solution.

Together, these validated integrations demonstrate a simple architectural principle: Customers can adopt Azure Local with Everpure FlashArray while retaining choice across established data protection partners. The result is a more flexible foundation for modern backup, recovery, and data protection strategies—without forcing customers into a single protection stack.

Built for confidence. Ready for recovery

When organizations choose Azure Local with FlashArray, they’re choosing more than performance and scalability. They’re choosing an infrastructure model built to support flexibility, reduce operational burden, and strengthen recovery confidence.

That matters because infrastructure teams do not just want innovation. They want assurance that the architecture behind their modernization strategy can stand up to the realities of production operations, including business continuity, cyber recovery, and long-term operational resilience.

With Azure Local and Everpure FlashArray, resilience is not positioned as a separate project. It’s part of how the platform is designed to work.
