Welcome to 2026. We are kicking off the year by doubling down on features that remove the manual friction from your daily operations while delivering powerful and fast performance where you need it most. This month’s updates focus on bringing fleet-wide intelligence to your storage management—whether you are air-gapped or fully connected—and expanding our ecosystem partnerships to give you more flexibility in how you handle virtualization and security.

The Future of Mission-critical Storage is Here

We are redefining the expectations for mission-critical infrastructure with the general availability of FlashArray//XL190, a platform designed to deliver “big iron” resilience without the legacy complexity. Engineered for your most demanding transactional databases, the XL190 offers DRAM-class latency of under 100 microseconds and a staggering 930% increase in IOPS per rack unit compared to traditional systems.

To maximize this hardware potential, we are also introducing Purity Turbo, a new software capability exclusive to the XL190—deployed non-disruptively—that allows the secondary controller to actively serve read I/O and expands your cache footprint across both controllers. Together, these innovations provide a unified foundation for Tier 1 workloads that is up to 20 times more efficient than legacy architectures, proving that extreme performance and availability no longer require a tradeoff in operational simplicity.

Automation, Dark Sites, and Intelligent Placement Powered by Pure Fusion

We are introducing three major updates to Pure Fusion™ this month, all aimed at solving the complexity of managing storage at scale. Upgrade to Purity 6.10.4 to experience Pure Fusion today.

Managing file storage policies across a growing fleet often leads to “configuration drift,” where manual inconsistencies create compliance gaps. Pure Fusion Presets solve this by introducing smart automation and intent-based placement for file workloads. You can now define your protection, access, connectivity, and placement policies once and reuse them indefinitely. By applying these presets with a single command, you ensure that every new file workload is deployed correctly the first time.

Bringing modern, fleet-aware management to secure, air-gapped environments has always been a challenge. We are bridging that gap with Pure Fusion Dark Site Workload Placement. This update brings the policy-driven intelligence of Pure Fusion to isolated or disconnected sites. For federal or highly regulated enterprise teams, this means you can finally achieve consistent performance and compliance across your entire fleet without sacrificing the control and security required by disconnected operations.

For those with connected arrays, we are leveraging the telemetry you already send us to streamline provisioning. The new Fusion Pure1-WLP Replication Placement utilizes the intelligence of Pure1 (via “Phone Home” data) to provide optimal placement and replication recommendations for block workloads. Instead of guessing which array has the capacity or headroom, the system utilizes real-time data to ensure faster deployments, reduced risk, and smarter resource usage across your environment.

Modernizing Secondary Workloads with FlashArray//C on Nutanix

We are expanding options for customers looking to modernize their virtualization stack. FlashArray//C™ is now optimized and supported as external storage for the Nutanix Acropolis Hypervisor (AHV). This is a strategic win for Tier 2 virtualized applications and non-production environments. You get the density and lower cost-per-TB of FlashArray//C, making it feasible to move disk-based secondary workloads—including heavy snapshot and clone operations—onto an all-flash NVMe platform without blowing the budget.

Convergence with Choice: FlashStack with Nutanix

For those who need a fully validated, converged infrastructure, the new FlashStack® with Nutanix design unifies Cisco UCS, FlashArray, and the Nutanix Cloud Platform into a single modular solution. This architecture supports both greenfield deployments and extensions of your existing environment, allowing you to run Nutanix AHV while scaling compute and storage resources independently. It’s particularly effective for data-intensive and AI workloads where rigid HCI scaling often creates resource waste.

Automated Cyber Resilience with Rubrik and Pure Fusion

Ransomware defense is about speed, and our new integration with Rubrik Security Cloud removes the manual delay between detection and reaction. Now generally available, this integration allows Rubrik to detect threats and immediately signal Pure Fusion to automate the tagging of affected volumes and create indelible SafeMode™ Snapshots. This automated hand-off delivers a near-zero Recovery Time Objective (RTO), allowing you to bypass the guesswork during an incident and restore critical systems with minimal disruption. It’s cyber resilience, made better.

Predictable Costs with Evergreen//One for Medical Imaging

Healthcare organizations often struggle to align infrastructure costs with patient care volumes. Evergreen//One™ for Medical Imaging, now generally available in Pure1, changes the consumption model by providing predictable, per-study pricing. Backed by automated telemetry via a dedicated medical imaging collector, this service ensures clinicians get sub-second access to large imaging studies on fast, secure infrastructure, while IT leadership gets a bill that aligns directly with revenue-generating activity.

Streamlined Operations with Pure1 IAM 2.2

The latest update to Pure1 Identity Access Management (IAM) introduces “Resource Groups,” a new way to logically containerize infrastructure resources. This allows you to align access permissions specifically at the organization level, cleaning up the dashboard for your users and ensuring better security hygiene. We’ve also added new user roles and support for limiting multi-organization access, giving you granular control over who sees what in complex, multi-tenant environments.

Deep Efficiency and Telecom-Grade Resilience with Purity//FB 4.6.6

We are pushing the boundaries of where FlashBlade can go and how efficient it can be. FlashBlade//S R2 is moving toward NEBS Level 1 compliance, featuring a configuration specifically built for the strict environmental and acoustic standards of telecom sites. This involves a mix of hardware refinements—like smarter cooling and a tidier chassis—alongside firmware updates that sharpen power management.

On the efficiency front, Purity DeepReduce™ is now generally available on FlashBlade//E™. Standard deduplication often struggles with pre-reduced, immutable, or application-compressed datasets. DeepReduce changes the game by using an advanced similarity-based reduction engine that analyzes extremely granular, variable-sized data chunks. This allows you to unlock meaningful capacity gains even on “difficult” workloads, driving down TCO and ensuring your storage economics remain predictable at scale.
