In an AI-driven world of surging data growth and volatile NAND pricing, standing still isn’t an option. IT teams are forced to juggle fragmented infrastructure, bloated ticket queues, and manual workflows that can’t keep pace with digital-first expectations. Budgets remain flat, talent is scarce, and yet the business demands instant, self-service, API-driven everything. Managing modern storage has become a constant context switch—across dashboards, array UIs, CLI scripts, spreadsheets, and tickets—just to answer fundamental questions like:

  • “Which arrays are under pressure?”
  • “What’s driving this latency spike?”
  • “Where should I place this new workload?”

Every answer requires piecing together performance metrics, capacity data, configuration settings, and workload placements trapped in different systems. At the same time, your teams are rapidly adopting AI assistants and copilots to speed up development, operations, and troubleshooting. But there’s a gap: Those AI tools don’t actually know anything about your storage environment. They’re smart, but blind. Everpure Fusion™ MCP Server closes that gap.

Introducing Everpure Fusion MCP Server

Everpure Fusion MCP Server is an open source Model Context Protocol (MCP) service that lets AI assistants query your Everpure Fusion‑managed fleet in natural language and receive precise, structured answers based on live data from Everpure Fusion, FlashArray™, and FlashBlade®. It acts as a lightweight, standards‑based bridge between your AI tools and your storage control plane:

  • It connects to your existing Everpure Fusion and Purity REST APIs.
  • It normalizes fleet‑level state—arrays, workloads, capacity, performance, alerts, configuration, placement—into clean JSON responses.
  • Any MCP‑compatible assistant (like Claude, ChatGPT with MCP, VS Code agents, or internal bots) can use those tools automatically, no custom integration required.

Why now? Because context is everything

Troubleshooting and planning in a modern environment isn’t about a single metric—it’s about context.

  • A SQL Server issue might be caused by missing indexes, a noisy neighbor workload, or an oversubscribed array. Today, it takes back‑and‑forth tickets, screenshots, and manual correlation between DB and storage teams to figure that out.
  • In virtualized environments, tools often see either the vCenter view (VMs, VMDKs, datastores) or the storage view (volumes, LUNs, arrays), but not a single correlated topology—slowing down root‑cause analysis.

Everpure Fusion already has a rich, global view of your fleet. Everpure Fusion MCP Server simply makes that intelligence accessible to AI—so that instead of searching, your teams can start solving.

What Everpure Fusion MCP Server does for you

1. Natural‑language fleet visibility

With Everpure Fusion MCP Server, anyone with access to an AI assistant can “ask the fleet” questions that used to require scripts or expert knowledge, such as:

  • “What arrays are in my Everpure Fusion fleet, and which ones are close to full?”
  • “Show me arrays with high latency in the last hour.”
  • “List all workloads tagged env:prod and where they’re running.”

Behind the scenes, the MCP server:

  • Exposes fleet membership and metadata: Fleet name, fleet ID, member arrays, platform type, model, Purity version, topology groups, health, and management endpoints
  • Surfaces array‑level operational state: Used and free capacity, data reduction, utilization, IOPS, bandwidth, and latency
  • Returns everything in normalized JSON: Enabling the AI agent to reason over the data, summarize it, or visualize it however users prefer

No one needs to write or maintain REST scripts just to answer “which arrays have headroom?”—they just ask.

2. Faster, AI‑assisted troubleshooting

Because MCP is a standard, your AI assistant can combine storage context from Everpure Fusion MCP with application‑level context from other MCP servers—for example, a SQL Server MCP or an internal observability MCP.

That unlocks powerful cross‑stack workflows:

  • Shared insights: An AI assistant can correlate query waits, execution plans, and database layout with underlying storage latency and volume placement to pinpoint whether slow SQL performance is caused by storage or the application layer.
  • Reduced MTTR: Instead of manually jumping across dashboards for hours, teams can ask questions like “Why did the checkout service slow down at 9:17am?” and let the agent pull the right Everpure Fusion telemetry, workload placements, and alerts in seconds.

Everpure Fusion MCP Server doesn’t replace your experts—it gives them a smarter, storage‑aware partner.

3. Compliance and drift detection at fleet scale

Config and policy drift across dozens of arrays is a silent risk. Everpure Fusion MCP Server makes it visible and queryable in plain language.

Through MCP tools, AI assistants can:

  • Compare foundational settings (NTP, DNS, directory services/IDP, networking, SMTP, SafeMode™) across all Everpure Fusion‑managed arrays to spot outliers.
  • Surface preset‑based compliance to identify arrays or workloads that no longer match their assigned Everpure Fusion presets or fleet standards, indicating drift from intended policy.

Typical questions become trivial:

  • “Are all arrays using the same NTP and DNS configuration?”
  • “Which workloads are out of compliance with their presets?”

The result is simpler audits, faster exception handling, and a tighter security and operations posture.

4. Rich workload and resource mapping

Understanding “what’s running where” is critical, especially when you’re planning migrations, consolidations, or performance tuning.

Everpure Fusion MCP Server exposes:

  • Inventory of Everpure Fusion‑managed resources: Workloads, presets, block volumes, and related groupings
  • Relationships between resources: Workload‑to‑preset, workload‑to‑storage resource, workload placement across arrays
  • Read‑only workload tags and fleet-wide filtering: Tags like env:prod and app:oracle, plus the ability to filter workloads across the fleet by tag expressions

That means you can ask:

  • “Show me all production workloads on arrays nearing 80% utilization.”
  • “List Oracle workloads using the gold performance preset.”

…and your AI assistant can return an accurate, correlated view without anyone wrestling spreadsheets.

5. A foundation for ‘agentic’ automation

From day one, Everpure Fusion MCP Server focuses on safe, observability‑only workflows. But it’s intentionally designed as the on‑ramp to supervised, AI‑driven automation.

Future phases will extend the same MCP interface to:

  • Draft workload plans and placement proposals that appear in the Everpure Fusion UI for review and approval
  • Initiate creation or modification of presets, again using preview‑first workflows with explicit approvals
  • Enable supervised tag updates and ultimately policy‑driven rebalancing and lifecycle management

In other words, the same pattern that lets an AI assistant diagnose issues will, over time, help it propose and execute fixes—always under your control.

Everpure Fusion MCP Server is an open source addition that takes advantage of the Intelligent Control Plane—no new license, no new silo. Together with the Everpure Pure1® MCP Server, it forms an intelligence layer for your storage:

  • Everpure Fusion MCP Server exposes the live state and configuration of your Everpure Fusion‑managed fleet—arrays, workloads, placements, policies—directly from your on‑prem control plane.
  • Everpure Pure1 MCP Server exposes cloud‑based analytics, telemetry, and fleet insights from Pure1 Manage APIs.

This dual approach means you can:

  • Bring your own AI assistant or agent framework anywhere MCP is supported.
  • Combine global analytics (Pure1) with local, policy‑driven control (Everpure Fusion) under a single, consistent protocol.
  • Evolve from “dashboards and scripts” to “questions and intents” across your entire storage estate.
