What Telemetry Is (and Isn’t)

Every FlashArray™, FlashBlade®, and Portworx® cluster continually streams health, performance, and configuration metrics back to Pure1. These telemetry feeds might include latency data, deduplication ratios, or volume statistics—yet they never include customer content from volumes, files, or objects. User data never leaves the array. Instead, Pure Storage telemetry data is expressly designed to illuminate operational health, not workloads or sensitive information.

Once received in the Pure1 cloud, telemetry is processed in a secure, multi-tenant analytics layer powered by Snowflake. Every customer sees only their own environment; strict authorization ensures total isolation. 

Transparency is core to trust here: Telemetry data is only used to make your system and every connected system smarter, faster, and more resilient.

In fact, if Pure1 telemetry detects a failing hardware component, Pure Storage automatically opens a support case. If a fault is confirmed by Support, we initiate an RMA and proactively ship the replacement per your hardware replacement SLA (e.g., next business day or four-hour delivery, depending on the plan).

Recent enhancements bring in multi-metric correlation: Latency, volume growth, and snapshot behavior are now analyzed together, revealing complex issues early rather than waiting for user impact.
